College of Electrical and Computer Engineering was awarded the BK21 FOUR (Brain Korea 21 Program for Leading Universities and Students) project. The college will receive a budget of USD 11.5M (KRW 13.5B) from the Korean government for the 7-year program starting from 2020. BK21 FOUR is a graduate student support program initiated by the Korean government. Its objective is to develop the next generation of world-class leaders in academia and industries by providing diverse opportunities for graduate students to build up new creative knowledge and skills along with practical experiences. It is noteworthy that it is the fourth time our college has been awarded the BK21 project starting from 1999.

The college has established the BK21 Chungbuk Information Education and Research Center to administer the BK21 FOUR program. The center supports graduate students' academic activities through scholarships and fellowships. The center also provides additional financial support for participation in international academic conferences and workshops, journal publications, participation in global internship and training programs, seminars, and special lectures on cutting-edge technologies.
